A weekend of celebrations

Judging by the amount of anniversary cards I'm making at the moment, I swear everyone gets married from July to November!!!...Yes, yes I know that's wedding season, but it's getting more and more complicated to come up with different ideas!!! Not that I'm complaining...no honestly, I'm really not, it's just getting a tad repetitive!!! ...Ooo and Mum's just announced that we seem to have done a lot of Red, White and Blue projects lately...well err it's a very British year isn't it!!

Anyway, back to my reason for this post ... I've got a few cards to share...starting with a wedding card...

Sometime ago, Donna asked us to make a wedding card for her Niece Stacey who got married yesterday. After a lot of "umm" and "does this match" Mum made this card. Perfectly wedding themed I think!!

At the same time as the wedding card, Donna also aked us to make an Aunty and Sister birthday card for Elaine. Seeing as I know Elaine likes ducks, I came up with this ...

Don't you think the little ducky's are cute!! As the card was from her three Niece's it was only right that I placed three little ducks on the card too!!

With the Aunty card made, Mum then came up with this project for the Sister card ...

I'll let you in on a little secret ...you see all those tiny little pink flowers?? Well, Mum hand stuck all of those on...there was a lot of "aaahhh's" and a lot more that went with that sticking too!!!

Hope you all had a great weekend.

27/07/12

Lets face it, most of us will remember this date for one reason...The London 2012 opening ceremony. However, one very special person will remember this date for another reason...it was also her 21st birthday. Remember Bethany who celebrated her 18th birthday a couple of weeks ago??? Well, today is her Sister Becca's 21st birthday.

Again  we've known Becca since she was...well since way back when she was still shorter than me!!! (trust me, at not quite 5ft tall, that takes some doing!!)... I personally started working with Becca when she was just 16...it seems like just yesterday I was teaching her how to use the tills and hang trousers the correct way...and now all of a sudden she's 21 (and considerably taller than me!).

Just like Bethany, we were asked to make a few cards and gifts for Becca. I can't really tell you much about them all without giving it all away, so I'll start by showing you this ...

A special basket for a special day...when we were asked to put a basket together, we just couldn't resist making it a British theme to tie her gift in with the olympic day...

Luckily it helped that her favourite things were available in the British theme..maltesers, original source ...even the jelly babies were available in the London mascot shapes!!!

Plus of course she got some personalised bunting and even her own gold medal (although apologies of it melts!!).

So that's the gift out of the way ... want to see her cards??? haha ok, first up there's this card that I made to go along with this gift...

I've of course stuck with the red, white and blue theme to make it match her gift. Both the gift above and this card were from Donna, Ed and their three girls...hope you liked them Becca.

Next up there's the card from us ... for months I knew what I wanted to do with this card, but I couldn't quite bring myself to make it in case I couldn't get it as good as it looked inside my head!!!...Eventually though I gave in and made this ...

Another red, white and blue theme...only this time tatty has bunting with the date on it ...

then there's the bunting at the top with London 2012...

and there's even the little girl (that I think looks a bit like Becca) holding her union flag with "Becca 21" on it. As much as I didn't want to do the card in case I couldn't make it special enough...I'm actually pretty proud of how it turned out. Ooo and just like Bethany's, it's also got a candle to match ...

Hope you liked it RC!!!

Last of all on Becca's list was the card Bethany asked us to make for her Sister. When Becca asked us to make a card for Bethany, I knew what I wanted to do...I also secretly hoped Bethany would then ask us to make a card for Becca...so when she did I was delighted...my plan would work!!! Not only did I use the "little Sister" ribbon on Bethany's card, but ...

I also got to use the "Big Sister" ribbon on Becca's card!!! Two special cards for very  special Sisters on their special birthdays.

Hope you had the most amazing day Becca and you liked your cards and presents.

Football Pirates!

It's been one of those weeks this week, where no matter how hard you try, you just can't seem to catch up with where you need to be!! It's honestly been one thing after another. So today I've got a few round up projects that I've been meaning to share with you, but just haven't had the chance.

First up there's a card we were asked to make for a pirate loving Nat who was about to turn 30!!! After playing about with a few things, Mum managed to come up with this ...

Ooo yes, that is indeed tatty teddy dressed as a pirate!! We'd asked to put "to my Girlfriend" and "30th birthday" too, but when playing about with the wording the "oh Ship you're 30!!" just seemed much more appropriate haha

Next up are a couple of cards that were made for Jackie's Grandson Lewis. Originally when we were asked to make a card, we were told he likes Lego heroes factory. After googling it to find out what the heck it is, I came up with this ...

...however, after seeing his Dad's football themed birthday card I'd previously made, Jackie changed her mind. Apparently Lewis had loved the football boot card so much that he'd wanted it for himself!!! So with a bit of adapting, Lewis also had this card ...

We hope bot Nat and Lewis loved their cards and enjoyed their special days.

11 Days To Go!!

Don't panic, you haven't been asleep that long...it's not 11 days til Christmas!!! No, it's actually just 11 days to go now until this ....

I know it's going to be everywhere, I know I don't have tickets, I know that it's probably going to pour with rain the entire time, but I'm still pretty excited to be able to see it all (even if it is on the tv!!).

A while back, thanks to some investigating I discovered how to make ribbon stay curled up like this....

So when I had the opportunity to make this card as part of a challenge over at CraftyCatz, I finally had the excuse to stick some ribbon in the oven!!! Yes, you did read that right, I really did put the ribbons in the oven!!! I then curled the ribbons even more to create the olympic rings...I know I'm biased, but I'm pretty proud of my first attempt at ribbon curling!!! Hopefully you think so too!!!

I've also got another project to share with you today. Remember the card we made a while back for Jess with a British theme that was sent all the way to Canada?? Well, this card is for her Husband Rob...Jackie (Rob's Mum) asked us to make a card for him with..."Of course" we replied..."any particular theme?" ..."Daughtry" was her response...So after explaining to Mum what Daughtry was I came up with this!!!...

I even managed to find the same font the band use in their artwork to be able to match Rob's name to it...Check me and my cleverness out!!!

Hope he likes it Jackie

Oops! I almost forgot...Friday was Bethany's birthday, but we hadn't managed to catch her before today. So this morning she finally had her card and gift from us...just a little something, but now we she's got them I can share them with you...

We heard a little secret that Bethany likes cupcakes, so Mum made this card ...

Ooo but it wasn't just a card...no no, Mum also made a candle too...

and look....

They match!!!

Bethany's 18!

Yesterday was someone very special's 18th birthday!! In a round about way, we've known Bethany since she was roughly about 9/10years old...that was many moons ago when her Mum worked with Mum. Since then, I've worked with her older Sister Becca, Mum's worked with Becca, and now Mum's working with Beth!! So when we were asked to make a few projects for her birthday, how could we resist!!!

First up Becca asked us to make a Sister 18th Birthday card...

Last year I managed to find some Sister ribbons that were "Big Sister and Lil' Sister" that Crusty and I used on each others cards. This year I managed to find more of the ribbons only this time in different colours in different colours, that I was saving to use again. When Becca asked me to make her a card for Beth I couldn't resist using this Ribbon on Bethany's card...it seemed a perfect way to add that "extra touch"!!

When I found the cute forever friends bears in the deck chairs, I don't know what it was, but I could image them as Becca and Beth!!! I then added Bethany 18 to the balloons and if you look closely ....

The bear wearing the sunglasses even has 18 on the lenses!!!

Next up, we were asked to make a birthday card and gift basket for Bethany from some of her friends.

Mum made this card...she couldn't resist using the pretty girlie colours and of course tatty's holding the flowers wishing Bethany a happy birthday!!!

Lastly we were asked to put a basket of goodies together...

We managed to stick to a pink and white colour theme whilst still incorporating some of her favourite things...

Her friends had already purchased the bottle of wine, picture frame and celebratory glass which all fit so well with our choice of colour scheme and left us with just the job of topping the basket up with some of her favourite things!!!

I have a bit of a confession too Bethany...you see, I'm a lover of soap and glory products too!! So when I saw the little bottle of hand sanitiser I couldn't stop myself from sniffing to test the smell!!!...Then I fell in love!! As much as I tried though Mum just wouldn't let me keep it!!! (rude!!) So on our next trip to the shops I was practically running to the shelf to grab some for myself ...BUT it had all gone...so I hope you enjoy that little bottle, because I won't hahaha!!!

Hope you've had a memorable 18th birthday Bethany

All of us x

Felt Friday 5

Helloooo!! I'm back again with another of Mum's felt creations...this time delivered straight from the tooth fairy!!! Mum was thinking of new ideas for using felt when she suddenly conjured up these...

Not only are they little teeth...but they also have a little pocket in the back of them!!! The idea is, that when the little one loses their tooth, instead of the tooth fairy having to rummage around to find their tooth before leaving some pennies, you can place the tooth in the back of the tooth pillow and when you wake up in the morning it'll have been replaced with a special treat!!!

Cute aren't they!!

Something A Little Different

I'm getting really tired of being so far ahead! I've made some really pretty cards this past week, but can't share any of them with you yet as they're not needed in some cases until August!! In fact I'm so far ahead I've got just 3 cards left to do for August dates before I'm onto September ... I won't mention the 50+ Christmas cards I've yet to make because that's a very scary thought!!!

Anyway, back to rainy July!! Today I've got a few little projects to share with you that have all been delivered this week. First up there's a Mum birthday card today...

Mum made this one...it's all cute and pink and girly ... so cute!!

Next up there's a few little Thank-you teacher gifts. I have no idea what it's like to be a teacher, but when it comes to the end of year they must love it!! Although as a parent I guess it's difficult to find something that will be different from what every other child in the class will give the same teacher. That's where we come in!!! ...

These could even be personalised with the Teachers name on. Not only were these candles given to the teachers, but they even had their own little gift bags...

Now you can't buy those in the shops!!

Well, that's all from me today, I'm now off to make a list of all the christmas cards I need to make ... wish me luck!!

Felt Friday 4

I'm back with some more felt creations to share with you today. The first of Mum's creations is something I've already sort of shared with you...

You may remember Mum made these turtles a while ago, along with the cupcakes and poppy badges that I've also shared before?? Well, whilst out shopping a couple of weeks ago we came across some basket bags we both liked. With it apparently being summer we decided to buy them to use for the summer. I wasn't too keen on some of the finishing touches on my bag though, so after a few tweaks here and there, Mum managed to turn her £3 bag into this ....

Whilst my £5 bag became this ...

The inside of mine doesn't have a lining that seals, but a little clasp instead. It seemed a little boring sat on it's own, so Mum's even managed to add a little flower to the clasp too ...

You can just about see it in this photo without me showing you what rubbish I've filled my bag with!!

They're not bad for a cheap bag are they?!

Onto new things then??? Mum's always reading books. So I guess it was inevitable that she'd eventually make these ...

Nope, they're not badges this time, they're bookmarks...

As you can see, they sit at the bottom of the page to keep you from losing where you are...

They even sit inside the book once you've marked your page so it doesn't get damaged!!

She's getting far too clever is Mum!

New Start

It's been almost a week since it happened, but I couldn't let it go by completely without saying something. Back in November last year Mum made a very tough decision to leave her job. It had gotten to the point where she was at work for more hours of the week than she was at home or asleep. It was extremely demanding and she was no longer gaining anything from it. It wasn't a decision she took lightly, but she knew she couldn't continue any longer. Since then she's been at home with crafting alongside me whilst searching for something new that would be both rewarding and interesting.

Mum started that very job this week. I won't tell you where it is, but I will tell you she'll now be crafting not only at home, but also at work!! I know, how lucky is she!! Since Monday all she's talked about is work!! The past few months have not been the easiest on her, mainly cos she's had a lot of self doubt that and lost a lot of confidence due to her last job. So you can imagine how relieved we all are to see her back to her old self again ... the same amazingly talented, clever and funny Mum she's always been.

Mum's new employers even set her a challenge on her first day. She was given a blank book to keep all her notes, achievements and general work stuff in and told to decorate it!! She wasn't given a date it had to be done by, nor was she told it had to be done immediately, but Mum being Mum the same night she was given it, she did this...

See! I told you she was clever!! It's amazing what some paper, ribbons, elastic, felt, beads and a bit of sticky back plastic can do!!

I've got two cards to share with you today, both of which are completely different. First up is a card we were asked to make for a 21st birthday. Whilst rummaging for inspiration amongst the paper stash Mum found some brown bubbles paper and came up with this ...

Next up we were asked to make a card for a Manchester United fan. Now when it comes to football cards, I always struggle with what to do. It's difficult to make them look like something you wouldn't be able to buy in a shop. But after a bit of thought and a lot of "no that won't work's" I came up with this ...

We've been told that this card was such a hit that Paul's son Lewis wants a similar version for his birthday at the end of the month!
